LaVerne W. Coleman, 779th

LaVerne W. Coleman, 91, a resident of Fraser for the past 50
years, died Saturday, 6 Sept. 2008, in Fraser. He was born 8 Jan. 1917, in
Milan.
Mr. Coleman, one of 12 children, served in the U.S. Army
Air Force during World War II where he was an AAF radio operator with the
464th Bombardment Group, 779th Squadron. He was a member of Yankee
Air Force at Willow Run Airport.
His family described him as a Mr. Fix-it around the house.
He is survived by his children, Sylvia (Robert) Lefkowitz,
Michael (Ann) Coleman, William (Tina) Coleman and Mary (Dennis) Baird;
brother, Leslie Coleman; daughter-in-law, Taffy Coleman; 14 grandchildren; and
10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty; and son,
Thomas Coleman.
A funeral service was held at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201
Garfield (north of 15 Mile Road), Clinton Township. Burial was in Great Lakes
National Cemetery, Holly.
